NRLC supports SB 148, Saving the Cure Act
Presently, the Georgia Legislature is considering an important measure that would give a mother an opportunity to store the umbilical cord of her newborn child. Cord blood is an ethical source of stem cells which can be used to treat over 70 diseases. These cells are obtained without harming the donor unlike embryonic stem cell research which kills a human embryo. This legislation has the ability to save lives with ethical and proven research treatment of ailments such as spinal cord injuries and leukemia.
The National Right To Life Committee encourages you to pass this important piece of legislation.
