I write to voice our wholehearted support of Senate Bill 148, the Saving the Cure Act.
We support the proposed creation of the Georgia Newborn Umbilical Cord Blood Bank to collect postnatal stem cells for medical research and treatment. We support your efforts to promote ethically responsible scientific research that is respectful of the sanctity of human life. We are grateful for the careful way that you have written Senate Bill 148 to advance the types of research over which there is no ethical controversy.
Your sponsorship of Senate Bill 148 is noted with appreciation. Please let us know how we can assit you in securing passage of this important and carefully written legislation.
